When thinking how to scale an agile transformation organisations often focus on transformation at team level however we tried something entirely different: to apply systems thinking and look at improving our organisation as a whole rather than optimising purely at team level.

I'll talk about the many problems we were facing, why we chose this particular improvement initiative, how we had to confront hard questions like how do we actually make decisions as an organisation and how do we (or do we at all?) manage dependancies across teams in our org.I'll talk through our journey so far and show the kanban systems we built to help us see and improve our whole system of work in our organisation.

I'll also talk about how the key to any initiative like this is how you communicate and involve the people in your organisation and will share some failures particularly highlighting where we got it wrong along the way and the challenges we still face in the hope it will help others with their own improvement initiative.
